Yes, currently Joshua Bambridge at Double Edge Sharpening has completed his certification and is a standing member of the International Scissor Sharpener's Association (ISSA).
Double Edge Sharpening has also completed certification with the Shark Fin® Shear Company, and is authorized to perform any and all repairs on all SHARK FIN® BEAUTY SHEARS, without voiding any manufacturer's warranties. For verification, you may call toll free 1-888-544-7254
We understand that sometimes, unexpected delays can occur, making schedule adjustments. If you need to cancel your appointment, we respectfully request at least 24 hours notice.
Any cancellation or reschedule made less than 24 hours will result in a cancellation fee of $25. We will do our very best to reschedule your service for another time that is convenient to you. We require a credit card to hold your appointment. Cancellation fees will be charged to your card on file.
Full refund within 7 days. Item must be untampered. Contact us ASAP.
Customer care and satisfaction is our number one priority. If you are not satisfied with your end result, contact us right away and we will schedule a time for us to rectify the issue. We strive to work with our customers to give them the best results possible.

**IMPORTANT - DURING THE CANADA POST STRIKE PLEASE USE PRIVATE COURIER TO MAIL IN SHEARS**
We provide sharpening for any one in Manitoba or across the country. How do you mail in your items?
4 Easy Steps:
1. Download the shipping form and write down the items you are shipping. (See "HOW IT WORKS" tab to download form)
2. Take a photo of the form and items for your records.
3. Put the form in the envelope, taking note of our mailing address.
4. Protect your items by wrapping them in newspaper, cloth or a bubble envelope if appropriate. Don’t forget to write your return address on the envelope.
Customers wishing to mail their items to us for servicing must pay for shipping to us and must include an extra prepaid, self addressed envelope for the return of their items. If a prepaid, self addressed envelope is not included, we will add the shipping cost to the final invoice. Please provide a note in your shipment with infomation on what you use your items for to help us better serve you.

There are a number of reasons how you can tell if you shears need to be sharpened. Six typical reasons are:
You dropped your shears.
They feel dull.
Your hand and/or wrist may feel sore.
Your shears are pushing the hair.
Your shears are pulling or grabbing clients hair.
There are nicks or dents on blade making it feel cruchy.
Length between sharpening depends highly on how often you are using them and which cutting techniques you tend to utilize the most.
For a full-time stylist we recommend every 3-4 months.
For a part-time stylist we recommend every 5-6 months.
Barbers/Stylists who do a lot more cutting than chemical services will need them done more often, closer to the 3 month mark.
If you do a lot of dry cutting, finishing and texturizing with your shears you will need them done more often than someone who cuts on mostly wet hair; cutting dry hair is more aggressive on your blades than wet hair.

We understand your tools are your livelihood, so we strive to deliver as quickly as possible. Our turn around times are subject to availability and can vary, but we typically get your items back to you within 2-3 business days or less.
If you have a hard deadline for your order, please indicate it on the order form at checkout and we will work to accommodate a rush on the expected turn around time.
